Can somebody give me a little info...PLEASE

Hi there!

I hope you are all reading this in the best of health and feeling great today cause you are all WONDERFUL!!!

I have a question, maybe a plethora of questions actually but I am a self educator and love having "others" as my teachers.. here is the deal..

I feel like I have to control the WORLD!! I mean I have 2 kids and I am 39 weeks 4 days pregnant with number 3. My husband rocks and would do anything he could to help me anytime I ask, problem... I cannot delegate, I feel like if I want it done right I have to do it myself, I get so worked up just thinking about what I have to accomplish in a day that I can't get anything done, my mind is in a MILLION places at once both at work and at home...I mean the silverware has to be a certain way in the dishwasher (mind you I understand it DOESN'T matter) The laundry has to be folded a certain way, the house has to be ran my way at the office I am in control cause that is my position basically but still I want/need to be more pliable.., it makes me nuts cause I know i my head I have a family/friends that will do whatever they can to make my load lighter, I just don't ask! Am I ANAL or is this anxiety.. I frequently have heart palpitations, I don't sleep (right now I contribute this to good ol baby #3) I get really frustrated really easy, this morning I lost it cause I spilled coffee on my white shirt and had to go to an appointment like that and it made me sooo angry... Stuff like this should just be "a bump in the day" yet it consumes me.. Can anyone give me any advice in regards to what this could be?

I was put on Prozac a couple of years ago but being that I have basically been pregnant for the last 2 years (I have an 18 month old right now too) I haven't re-started it and thought it strange to be on that since "depression" isn't what I feel it is more "anxious" but it is continuous. What is a good med. that can be taking daily (after I have this baby) that I can discuss with my Dr., she was so quick to suggest Prozac that I want to go in with my own thoughts (imagine that!!LOL!!!)

Sorry.. long winded.. please write soon!!

Re: Can somebody give me a little info...PLEASE

Hi,

I'm certainly not a Doctor but when I read the part of your post where you talked about the silverware having to be a certain way and the laundry had to be folded a certain way and the house has to be run your way...I thought I could have written that part of your post.
I'm the same way and it sounds very much to me that you may have OCD...something I suffer from.
Everything in our house has to be just so or I freak out.
I might ask my Husband or one of my kids to do something and then I think to myself..."I have to be the one to do it, because they just won't do it the way I want it done."
I could give you a very long list of things that HAVE to be done a certain way or checked a million times before I'm happy...but the post would be pages long.

At one time I had panic/anxiety problems...I don't have those anymore but I still have the OCD.
The medication I took for the panic/anxiety problem did nothing for the OCD...it wasn't meant to.
I've been told that the SSRI drugs like Paxil and Zoloft help with OCD...I did try both at one time but I had an allergic reaction to both of them...so I can't really tell you if they help.
My OCD does get in the way of a lot of things, but I'm just doing my best to live with it....I can remember even as a little girl having to have things just so or I'd get very upset.
If I have to be somewhere at 9AM I get up at 4AM just so I can have everything just so with the house before I leave.

Sorry I couldn't really be of much help, just wanted to let you know that what you're describing sounds like OCD to me...but like I said I'm not a Doctor....and to let you know what I was told about what drugs are supposed to help control it.
