My face is breaking out sooooo bad, I already have a persistant problem with acne but I'm into my 2nd week on my starter pack with Zoloft and boy does my face look worse than usual, is it the Zoloft..if so I'm weaning off Zoloft..I'm up to 50mg..any advice?

Re: Does Zoloft Cause ZITS???

YESSSSSSSSSS, I broke out horribly........I spoke to my doctor just as I was weaning off the Zoloft and he did some research for me and found out that it causes acne. Not only that, it causes your skin not to heal as quickly or properly so I'm left with a lot of scars and red marks. I'm completely off the Zoloft now and on Effexor. I may have to see a dermatologist to bleach my scars..........not trying to scare you but just trying to respond honestly to your post.......speak to your doctor if you are concerned but don't stop taking it without speaking to your doctor. I was taking 75 mg. And don't forget that if it is working for you sometimes the success will outweigh the side effects.

I'd switch to another SSRI if I were you. Some people are real sensitive to Zoloft.

Re: Does Zoloft Cause ZITS???

Then I would try Paxil or Lexapro......Those would be your best bet. They are anxiety killers.......

Re: Does Zoloft Cause ZITS???

For me, paxil caused big massive painful zits that took forever to heal. I had no problem with prozac doing this.
