Does anybody on meds feel like this?? - Anxiety Message Board

I am on lexapro, and its finally starting to help me, but each day, I'm so used to being anxious before the meds that I still wonder if I am going to be ok on that particular day. I will be in the shower calm as can be--thinking I hope the medicine keeps working....I hope I don't have a panic attack out of the blue, etc. I don't obsess over these thoughts, but they occasionally cross my mind maybe once or twice a day. It's like the anxiety is masked and you are afraid sometimes that it's just going to pop out again when you least expect it. Does anyone else feel like this?

I can totally relate. I am on my first week of a stronger dose of Zoloft. I do feel better except I do have the same thoughts about when will the next attack happen. I think sometimes our subconscious tends to take over and we are so used to feeling anxious all the time that it is hard for our brains and bodies to relax.

Hi Moniqu1,

I have been taking Lexapro for approx. 5 wks. I am on 15 mg. now. When I was on 5 mg. and then 10 mg., it sort of felt like the anxiety was just right under the surface. Like at any minute it could pop out and I would be anxious. It rarely did. And so far, on the 15 mg., I do not feel that way at all.
