thinking about going on Prozac for anxiety...got question - Anxiety Message Board

I have self-diagnosed with GAD and panic, but I was wondering, I hate SSRI's, but if I only stay on them for 1-2 years, (tapering off slowly), will the anxiety continue?

Reason I ask, for example, I get tons of anxiety when Im sleepy, or didn't get enough sleep. So, if I go on Prozac and the anxiety doesn't hit me, will I not worry about it since the anxiety has been gone for months+, therefore, not get anxiety?

I know thats confusing...sorry.

if the prozac works it will reduce your anxiety a lot
have you tried this type of med before?

lexapro made me so tired and the sexual side effects made me stop after a week or two. Effexor did absolutly nothing after 12 weeks.

Takeing Drugs Won't Help Its Just A Covering For Why Your Anxious You Need To Tapper Off And Find Better Ways Seriously Drugs Don't Do Nothing But Cover Your Problem If You Don't Seek The Root Of It After Your Off The Prozac You Will Still Have Anxiety Thats What We Don't Realize If Don't Get To Root It Doesn't Matter What You Take You Will Always Have Them But There Is Relief I Heard A Holistic Doctor Will Help He Does Things Natural Be Blessed
