This is the main symptom I have with anxiety and have had pretty much on a daily basis. I always think my throat is going to close up or I am having some sort of respiratory attack, the problem is the symptoms seem so very real.
Does anybody else have alot of problems with hyperventilating ? I seem to have it on almost a daily basis and am still absolutely terrified of it.
I believe I do I was once told by a doctor that I may be doing that sometimes.
I also sometimes catch myself breathing funny (irregular) or not breathing at all.I dont even realize I was doing it
If I think I may not be breathing right I do this ...breath in deep through my nose (with a hand on my belly) out slow through my mouth your belly should rise when breathing in with your nose and fall in when breathing out through your mouth.........I do this about 5 or more times it also helps me relax sometimes when tensed up.
make sure you are breathing through the diaphram and belly rises and falls
you may have to practice this daily
