Is it normal to see the pulse in your neck?

This post made me laugh because iam able to see the pulse in my neck and i actually use to look at peoples necks to see if i could see their pulse(just to see if it was normal or not). I asked my doc. about it and he said it was normal; according to him some people just have stronger heartbeats then others.
