Lexapro question

I have taken Lexapro for about a week now. Does it make you feel relaxed everytime you take it or does the effect wear off over time? How does it help in the long run with aniexty? and is it alright to take Xnax or vicoden with it?

Re: Lexapro question

I don't think lex is supposed to make you feel relaxed everytime you take it....it builds up in your system to make you feel calmer. My dr. said it is fine to take a xanax with it. You are not going to have immediate relief with the lex, like taking a benzo. But, for me the lex works very quickly.

Re: Lexapro question

Hi quoting,

I have only been on Lexapro about 3 mo. It does not make me feel relaxed, just more calm like AmericanDancer said. I do not have Xanax, but I have taken Vicoden (Hydrocodone) with it on several occasions. I take Hydroco for arthritis sometimes.

It takes 2 - 3 months for it to work fully - the Lexapro. Just hang in there. If it works for you, you will see how it does work. Just sort of makes you feel better that you did b4, with all the anxiety! I have not heard any one ever say that it does not work after using for a long time.

Good Luck and take care. Wannabe
