Hi. I suffer from Panic Disorder/anxiety/depression.

I have severe health anxiety. Every time I start on a new medication I get nervous.

So, my question is, how early would you be able to tell if you were allergic to medication?

I started on Vistaril 3 days ago. So far, so good. I am taking 25 mg before bed.

Would I have already had a reaction to it if I were allergic?

Hi Angela....

I haven't taken the Vistaril, but I just started taking a beta blocker today for my anxiety. I have always been told that you would notice major side effects right away, or allergic reactions. Like with the beta blocker today I noticed I was a bit drowsy about a half hour after taking it. I would think that if you were allergic to the Vistaril, you would have already had some kind of reaction. I hope the Vistaril helps you!!!

i too worry about reactions and side effects of meds. it sounds though that your gonna be fine, you would have reacted by now if you were gonna.
hope it helps you, though ive always been told that it may take a week or so until you feel any benefits, so try and persevere with it.
