Please Please Please Someone Answer Me - Anxiety Message Board

Hi all!
I have not posted for a long time thinking that I had my anxiety under control. I have been on Celexa for about a year and I have not really had any panic attacks, although I constantly think that there is something wrong with my heart. I have such a fear of having a heart attack. Anyway, I woke up this morning and I felt like I wanted to jump out of myself. I had burning feeling which radiated down both arms and I felt like I could have thrown up. Of course then my mind told me that I was going to have a heart attack. I took a xanax and within 20 mins I felt better. What was that and why did that happen? I felt like my chest wanted to explode. Very strange feeling... Has anyone else ever felt like that....It was almost like I wanted to get out of my own body. Let me know if anyone knows what I am talking about. Thanks all! Happy Thanksgiving!

tell doc what happened, if it was a panic attack you may need to up the celexa dose if still on it
tell doc of your heart fears, he may get tests done to reassure you that its OK
try to ignore your heart, dont check or monitor it

Hi and sorry for hearing that your not doing to well, I can totally relate to how you feel, because i also have a fear of a heart attack, its horrible I think about it all day ad it wears me out even he I have had tests done when i have bad panic attacks my
chest hurts and left arm goes numb and get stiff, its very scary anyway i went to a place called healthfair , they do a bunch of heart tests and that can make ou feel at ease. and they only charge $179

also what your feeling that fullness in your chest is also anxiety, at last in my case but its good to get tested to make sure heart is ok, i also started xana and it helps me calm down when these attacks hit, anyway hope you are doing better take care
