Does anyone else get weird thoughts when falling asleep? I will be about to fall asleep, then I will randomly think about curtains, or something really random. Things just pop into my head. Anyone else?
yes i do also there have been alot of people with anxiety ask this same type of question.Dont worry it is very normal especialy if you have anxiety and or just stress.I have had even very strange freaky random images and thoughts while trying to get to sleep stress and anxiety will do it .Any time ive been taking anti anxiety meds It never happened during those times
Yeah I totally get that. I have/have had OCD which is of course an anxiety disorder, and also it tends to happen most if I'm really overtired or have had lots of coffee before bed, all of which relates to anxiety as a factor. Usually it's like heaps of images flashing through my head -- just random objects, like curtains as you say!
I Have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep because of insomnia/anxiety/panic attacks/phobias/depression/etc and I tend to get really hyper and alert at night. I could be lying in bed thinking for hours about the most random thoughts...from thinking of whats on TV tomarrow to gruesome acts of violence or I'll be lying in bed thinking I'm having a heart attack because I get heart Palps.
But my doc put me on Ambian (sp) and it works when I take it...but I try not to take it much because I don't want to become dependent on more meds.
Yeah, it sometimes takes me about an hour to fall asleep after I get into bed because no matter how hard I try, I just keep thinking of random things. Sometimes they aren't bad things, but other times at night before sleep I seem to struggle with bad thoughts too. I try to "count sheep" to just relax my mind and try to fall asleep, but that doesn't always work. Sometimes while the sheep are still jumping around in the meadow or over a fence in another part of my head I'm thinking of something else I meant to say to someone.
