Will this ever go away? - Anxiety Message Board

Hi

I'm back again because I don't think I'm ever going to get better. My anxiety is at an all time high. I can't go any where because as soon as I do I feel like I can't breathe. In the car is a nightmare, I have to talk to myself to try and rationalise what is happening to me. I've been the docs but there is a six months waiting list for psychological help and I've had enough. I'm at a crucial time in my life, professionally and I'm frightened I won't be able to complete what needs doing. My whole familyis suffering. I am so low right now, please tell me it will get better and that you too have been through this. My back is so sore from the over breathing and I tremble from within, I feel like I'm losing my mind. I've tried breathing exercises but this makes it worsde because the more I focus on my breathing the worse it gets. I can't eat anything without bloating which makes my breathing even worse. I am in nightmare that I can't wake up from!!

Hi Maddie.... I am a Christian and I was very familar with the power of of fear in my life for many years. The Bible says that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but He has for you, power, and love and a sound mind. God has those things in store for you if you will turn to Him. Remember the three things... Power to change, Gods love that contains peace, and a stable, steady, still (quiet) mind. All of these things are yours if you seek God through His Son Jesus Christ. I know because it has already has happened for me. He brought me out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Now I have peace in the place of fear and anxiety.

THanks for that but I too am a christan and I pray often this will go away but it hasn't yet!!

I Know What You Are Going Through With The Breathing,amongst Alot Of Other Symptoms. I Am A Christian Too. I Pray Daily. Take Each Day As It Comes And Hang On To God With All Your Might. We Will Make It. You Are Not Alone. I Often Wonder Why Me.but Maybe It Is For Times Like This. If I Can Encourage You Or Lift You Up Or Calm Some Of Your Fear Then Its Worth It To Me. I Do Truly Understand What You Are Going Through. This To Will Pass. I Also Take Encouragement From The Person That Answered This Post And Think It Is Wonderful Advice.hope This Helps.

While waiting for your psychologist, you could ask a doctor to prescripbe ativan which helps with the breathing. Good luck
