Wellbutrin for Anxiety? - Anxiety Message Board

Has anyone ever taken Wellbutrin for anxiety? I used to take Effexor a while back then stopped. I went to a new doctor and she gave me WEllbutrin with and Xanax. I still find myself worrying and having feelings that "something" is going to go wrong sometimes. Does anyone have any advice? I exercise and try to eat right. SHould I explore a different med? I am diagnosed as bipolar and she prescribed lamictal along with lithium but I have to wean off the lamictal because I simply can't afford any more medications. Thanks for listening.

sounds like you need a psychiatrist for meds, ask at the local hospital about seeing 1 cheaply, stress that you have little money, dont be too proud to admit it

wellbutrin and effexor are both antidepressants of different types and all antidepressants will reduce anxiety a lot, if they work for you, sometimes they dont work

how long on the effexor and what dose? did it help?

xanax, a valium type med, always helps and you are lucky to be able to get some, a generic would be cheaper take it as needed only, remembering that a dose usually only lasts a few hours

docs often give out free starter packs and sample packs of meds to their poor patients

I was on Effexor for over a year. I think the dose was 225 mg. Thanks for the psych advice. I do trust the person I am seeing now. I take the generic for xanax. I guess you can't always rely on a pill to erase a lifetime habit of worrying. See ya

I think Prozac is fairly cheap and a pretty reliable antidepressant...it comes in generic now whereas many other meds don't. Also, you can shop around for the best prices on medications...one drug store's prices may be very different from another, {REMOVED} With my insurance, if I buy maintenance meds through their mail program, I get a free month with every two months I pay the copayment for. I am looking for deals too, since it seems like I keep having to buy prescription drugs...even with insurance, it adds up fast!
