How healthy is my heart? Mad at the Doctor! Need advice.

I told my Doctor's nurse that I wanted a 30 day looping monitor for 30 days and a "Nuclear"Stress test.

When I went in to get my looping monitor I asked the event monitor nurse how long the test would take and she explained that it would be 3-4 hours.

The day before the test the Heart Group called to confirm my appt and she said I was getting a Dobutamone Stress test and it would last 60 min. I asked about the Nuclear Test and she said I wasnt scheduled for it. So I called the Dr's and the nurse said that is what she asked for and that she was transferred to the nuclear imaging dept.

The test was me on my side, they did an echocardiagram, they increased my heart and did another echocardiagram and EKG. I was never in a machine nor were any special cameras involved.

After just a week on the looping monitor the heart place called and said they got enough info and said my Dr told them I didn't need it anymore.

The Dr's office said the results from the dobutamine stress test came back "normal" that it looked good.

So my question is with the Dobutamine stress test, with the treadmill test I took, and the Echocardiagram a good indicator that my heart is healthy with all the results being good?

I still get random chest pains and my arm hurts but I passed those tests. Plus I am obese 280lbs at time of test and I found out obesity can affect the results due to the voltage thru a thicker layer of skin.

Should I be satisfied with the results or get an actual honest to goodness Nuclear Test?

Well it still seems like you are uneasy about the results that you do have. I would say that you should try to get the nuclear test for piece of mind. If this is something you are really concerned about, it really doesn't hurt to get it checked out.

She is going to look at me like I am an idiot. I am going to be honest and tell her that I still have chest and left arm pains. Pains that are most likely due to anxiety but pains nonetheless.

concern over the heart is normal with people with anxiety/ panic.. i used to get mad at the docs all the time thinking they missed something or they werent taking my symptoms seriously.. its all part of anxiety.. if nothing happened to ur heart yet.. its probably not gonna happen for a long time.. so dont stress it.. i know what your going through... hope u get well.. its hard times..

chest pains can happen from heartburn, a type of indigestion associated with GERD which anxiety sufferers often have, try some indigestion meds, mylanta make 1 for heartburn
