"What if" anxiety

and 1* years old and Well, ive been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome recently, and was prescribed with a medicine called Zelnorm, which instantly helped me. Its main side effect is diahrea, by the way. Anyways, recently ive been so worried repeating to myself "what if it suddenly stops working" "what if the diahrea doesnt go away" and constantly being worried about things that i dont even know about, alls i know is my problems will flash through my thoughts and ill suddenly spiral into my what ifs and thinking of all the worst possibilities that could happen. im also going through a problem where i have to plan into the future. for instance i made a list for some reason that goes something like this:
-if i get constipated, take another medication
-if i get sick go see doctor

and im constantly adding on to it.
also im experiencing a problem where im saying to myself what if im still worried when i get out of school for the summer. the problem is theres a lot of great things going on this summer like im getting a new dog and a great camera so i can get going making my films, but im worried to this severe anxiety is gonna ruin it and im looking to far ahead!

this is just too much im gettng worried about being worried now! ive lost all energy, dont want to laugh anymore, and my mind cant take 15 minutes of rest until im thinking about everything again. ive scheduled an appointment with a reiki session, but is there any other tips you guys have? any meds? and ways of just chilling out you guys do?

Look closely at your diet; that's were your health problem may lie. Contrary to many cherished views the long-term effect of too many carbohydrates and vegetable oils in your diet could be harming your health. Ramp-down the carbs and processed foods and increase protein, saturated fats, and raw (preferably organic) foods and you may discover an improvement to your health. Interestingly, the closer you emulate the diabetic's diet the healthier you will probably be. Processing and cooking of food destroys most of it natural nutrition.

hmm...I have the same thing in a sense... Maybe you could go talk to a therapist or couselor? Just remember most of the things we worry about don't happen, it's the things we forget to worry about. Don't know if that helps at all. Try to go day to day...don't worry really far into the future everything will "work out" you don't have to worry just concentrate on the here and now... Know that you're not alone in this either.. keep us updated!

On referring to your diet I was alluding to the chemical effect that a poor diet has on the body over the long term. When the chemistry of the body is out of harmony (which a poor diet causes) numerous symptoms arise, one of which is the imbalance of brain chemistry and the subsequent neurological symptoms; uncontrolable worry being one of them. The symptoms of IBS can arise from either one or both of those features. Prior to having surgery, medicine, or therapy, try experimenting with your diet. Possessing that 'feel good' factor every day in life and feeling fit and healthy arises from a nutritious diet. If you do not feel this way then your diet is probably at fault. Paradoxically, few people are aware of the effect of food on the chemistry of the body, the study of which can only be beneficial. As a primer you might try reading Sally Falon's book, 'Nourishing Traditions' which is loaded with useful information on diet and its effect. The book is listed as a cookery book but is, more accurately, a treatise on nutrition.
