Klonopin Withdrawl??? - Anxiety Message Board

I have been taking klonopin for over three months along with Celexa which I have been on for about 7 months. I stopped taking the Klonopin which I had been taking on a daily bases about three weeks ago, abruptly. Since then I have been walking around with sever dizzy spells, have moments of confusion and difficulty thinking and remembering things. In addition I have been experiencing muscle cramping in my arms, legs and most noticibly in my chest, back and neck. I also have dingling sensations in my left foot and have periods where it is hard to use my hands. I feel drunk sometimes. Is it possible to be experiencing withdrawal from klonopin when I have only been on it for three months? It's either that or I have had several strokes and a brain tumor, irrational thinking, I know. Please share your klonopin experiences with me, thanks. Ed

I think the problem is that you stopped the klonopin abruptly. I've read people have little difficutly with withrawal if you cut down in very small increments. How much were you taking?

1 mg a day

Yes, it's possible you could be experiencing withdrawal after only 3 months. Check with your doctor, but every time I cut down on a drug such as klonopin, I'd cut back by .125 mg every few days. You'll need a pill splitter, but I think your withdrawal symptoms will be greatly decreased if you proceed nice and slowly. HTH
