I'm just interested to know if anybody has found that with their anxiety, they are more sensitive to noticing any lumps and bumps on their body or certain aches or pains. Then worrying that it is something way more serious than what it probably is? This in turn usually produces a mild attack from the worry.
Re: Does anxiety make you more aware of your body?
Yes over the past .. 7 or so years I have become very introspective ... numbness anywhere I get paranoid its MS or something awful.. an inflammed stomach turns into cancer etc.. I know exactly what you mean. You arent alone.
Re: Does anxiety make you more aware of your body?
oh yea...actually before I started zoloft, I was really like that. My mom used to tell me I was just too hypersensitive to my body. I noticed everything that "normal" people normally disregard and blew it out of proportion. I think it is a pretty common symptom of anxiety. It's good that you're aware of it.
Re: Does anxiety make you more aware of your body?
very very true. You may have felt so many different symtoms in your body prior to your experience with anxiety. But anxiety makes you scan your body 24/7 and all ways look at the slightest things and blow them out of proportion. Anxiety makes us nervous and scared and makes us assume the worst also. Think that the glass is always 1/2 full and not empty.
