Buspirone with St. John's Wort

I decided to try St. John's Wort with Buspirone since I can't seem to get on a prescribed antidepressent because of the side effects. Then I read in a forum that it is not safe to take St. J. W. with Buspar/Buspirone because of possible serotonin syndrome. (Too much serotonin in the brain.)

I talked to my doctor and have the green light to try taking it. Buspirone blocks the re-uptake of serotonin to the brain keeping it in your system where it builds up in your spinal cord. Gad is believed to be caused by too much serotonin in the brain and Buspirone can help bring the levels in your brain back to normal. St. John's Wort will not interfere with Buspirone's action then. Buspirone is not an SSRI so I don't know about those meds. Check with your doctor first if you want to try St. Johns Wort. I'm excited to try it.
