lexapro side effects?

Hi, I startes 5mg of lexapro on monday, I did it for two days but couldn't sleep so I stopped for 2 days and talked to my psych, he wants me to continue it, in the 2 days I didn't take it I still couldn't sleep and have anxiety really bad also diarreah(sorry tmi). Does it take a while to get out of your system? I started taking it today again, it has worked for me in the past really good. I just have a 5 month old and it is hard to function on no sleep,.please any info.

Re: lexapro side effects?

I was on Lexapro for a a few months and when they started me on this med they put me on a tiny bit of klonopin until the medicine had time to kick in. What time of day are you taking it?

Re: lexapro side effects?

I was on Lexapro for a little a while for anxiety and I couldn't sleep at all during the day nor at night eventhough I took it in the morning. My advice is to ask your doctor to prescribe ativan or kolonopin at a small dose, I think that they can be very beneficial for you at this time but you should only use them shorterm until your body adjust to Lexapro.
