I'm a 23 year old female from Georgia. I've been reading everyones posts for a while, but finally decided to join up. I think I suffer from anxiety as well. I've had some traumatic events happen in my life and the last few months have been hell. Like most people here, I suffer from the same symptoms: heart palpitations, restlessness, severe fatigue, lack of concentration, constantly thinking of dying of some disease (cancer or heart failure), dazed/dizzy, headaches, eye pain, infrequent menstrual cycle, etc. Everytime I get a new symptom, I constantly worry that I'm dying of some new disease. Seems like a lot of people here were first tested for allergies, as was I. It showed I have mild allergies, but I dont think they can explain my symptoms. Ive had several panic attacks where I thought I was going to suffocate/pass out. Luckily both happened at work (at least I wasnt driving). My doctor has yet to diagnose me with anxiety, even though I keep telling him that I think I have it. My blood pressure is normal, so I think thats why he doesn't think I have anxiety.
Hope to make some friendships here and help others cope with this. See you all soon.
Sorry you are dealing with all those symptoms.I think it is good your doctor is not quick to pin it on an anxiety disorder.Alot of doctors will quickly presume that is the problem. So you have a good doctor who wants to check further into your symptoms before diagnosing anything. This way if you are diagnosed with an anxiety disorder you may feel more comfortable with your diagnosis then some others who were rushed into their diagnosis.Anyway,I have felt most of the symptoms you have mentioned. There are great people on this forum with good advice and support. take care
Yes, I agree, you have found a good doctor! My doctor didn't do anything to me and just said 'it's anxiety' after about 5 minutes of me telling her my symptoms. I begged for testing so she ordered bloodwork - it was normal. I then begged for a referral to a cardio doc she said no the first time but then I brought my husband with me and she said ok. I've seen him and had an EKG, currently on a holter monitor and will have an echo thursday and stress test soon after. I've also been to the ER with chest pain and had 2 EKG's, chest xray and blood work - all fine. You're lucky you're doc wants to rule out any underlying conditions without you having to beg lol. Go with it, at least you'll know for 100 percent it's anxiety.
I'm new here too. I have been having EXACTLY the same symptoms. The only thing is, when I go to stand up, i feel like I'm going to faint. Everything goes black and i see "stars". It usually passes in a few seconds. I was getting these spells after the birth of my son and i thought it was maybe from getting a spinal done. Are u currently taking any meds? I'm too paranoid to even take anything for my attacks. I'm seeing a psychiatrist next week. I was told that ur blood pressure doesnt have to be abnormal to be having an attack. mine is always 108/64...pretty low. I was told to have my eyes checked and its nothing that has to do with my eyes. i started getting a loud buzzing in my ears so now i'm going to see a specialist for that. I was pretty frustrated until i just read ur post. It couldnt have described my symptoms more perfectly. Do u wake up out of a deep sleep with attacts that make u want to call an ambulance and go to the ER? just curious
