new meds (again)

doctors got me on 2mil of lorazepam a day and also taking mitrazapine every night (30mil i think).
i really think these meds are working for me, i feel calmer, more focused, just generally able to deal with day to day life a lot better. and this is just after 3 days on them. only thing is im worried that the doc's going to withdraw the lorazepam after a month and i'd really like to keep taking it at least for a few months. anyone on here been on lorazepam for an extended period of time?

Re: new meds (again)

Yes, I have taken Xanax for over a year.

Some people 'need' benzos daily; whereas, some people need benzos only as needed.

It depends on how much they are helping you regain the quality of your life and if your doctor feels comfortable prescribing them.

I would hope that if you had a heart to heart talk with him about how much they are helping you that he'd take your concerns seriously, and even give you them 'as needed' so you at least had some on hand (sometimes knowing they are there "just in case" is enough).
