I'd like to share a new breathing
technique that I learned! It goes like this........
Close your eyes and imagine sitting in a garden full of your favorite flowers.
Imagine holding the stem of the flower in both hands.
Take a deep breath thru your nose and imagine the smell of that flower.
Hold for a few seconds.
Then cup your hands as if you were holding a small birthday cake. Slowly blow out the candles with your mouth - not too fast cause you will blow the frosting off and not to slow or the flames won't go out. Make sure your stomach rises with each inhale and not just your chest. Repeat several times.
I know this may sound corny but a social worker taught me this. I do it twice a day whether I need it or not. Tremendous help especially when I am feeling anxious!!
