| Re: Anxiety and getting pregnant
This may not be of much reassurance to you, but it certainly helped me while I was pregnant and suffering from anxiety. I just had my son about 12 weeks ago, btw. The initial bloodwork they do had me panicing until everything came back normal (you mean I don't have HIV? Or Hepatitis!? WOOHOO!) and that kind of reassured me when I'd get one of my "OMG, I have cancer" moments. I got off all meds while pregnant because honestly, the ones I was on in the first place weren't even really helping and I figured why risk it for something that isn't even doing any good for me. I am not saying don't take meds by all means. If I was on something at the time that really helped, I would have continued in a heartbeat! I think the most important thing is finding a good OB/GYN who is willing to work with you and your anxiety and understands it. I managed it quite well, actually while pregnant I felt really good because every weird symptom I felt could be related to pregnancy and not necessarily some sort of life threatning illness. It also helped that you pretty much live at the doctor while pregnant. I don't know if what I'm saying even makes sense but these are the things I felt when pregnant. Now that I'm not pregnant anymore it's a whole new ballgame but I think you will do just fine. Like I said, just find an OB/GYN who you trust and feel comfortable with and that is the most important thing.
