Panic attack? Post for a friend. - Anxiety Message Board

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted (I've been reading, though) only this time it is for a friend who is concerned.

The other night, she said that she suddenly started shaking severely, felt short of breath, excessive sweating, very pale skin, and blurry vision. She also is having difficulty sleeping, although she is very tired. She still feels this way, only not as bad. We are concerned and are wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and if this could indeed be a panic attack. Thank you.

Yes. It could be a panic attack, but it also could be a lot of other things such as a thyroid problem or severe hypoglycemia. I would get your friend to a doctor for a physical to find out the real cause.

That is exactly what happened to me! Out of the blue, shaking, sweating, hard to breathe and scared the heck out of me. Took three trips to the ER to find out it was panic. I agree that it could be that, but have your friend get tested to rule out other things. Best of luck.
