antidepressants and alcohol - Anxiety Message Board

hi,
started celexa on jan 9. i do like to drink once in awhile. the last time was 2 drinks on jan 1. since i have been on the celexa i have had the urge to drink. while i was looking up the effects of drinking and ad's i came across a post that said that ad's can make you crave alcohol. anyone know if this is true. also didn't take celexa yesterday because it makes me so tired all i seem to be able to do is sleep. am on buspar and taking celexa more for breakthrough anxiety.

I have no idea about the craving for alcohol. I havn't craved alcohol for a very long time and I do take antidepressants. I have also gone through so many different meds.

Concentrate on your mental health, do what is best for that. If you need to work on any sort of alcohol problem you can do that later.
