I have suffered from Anxiety and panic attacks for nearly 15 years. I was going through a major depression not to long ago and started taking Prozac, which helped me after I had my son (post-partum depression/psychosis), this time it totally exacerbated my anxiety!!! I couldn't function at all. I thought I was going to die daily, I was sure I had a heart problem, I felt like I couldn't ever breathe properly, or I had some fatal disease...just constant paralyzing obsessive thoughts and fears I couldn't shake. I wanted, I had to, stay in the house because even going to the grocery store was traumatic, I thought I would pass out while driving, shoot come to think of it, I couldn't even walk to my dumpster without having an attack. I finally found a great psychiatrist and started on Lamictal...it has been a GOD SEND! I was living in such hell before. I have also gone from taking (8-.05 mg, of Ativan to 2-.05mg daily). I just wanted to share that with you guys. I know medicine works for everyone differently. It took about 2 months to really start making a difference. I had to completely give up alcohol and since then the medicine has really worked wonders. Alcohol can be a damaging cycle with Anxiety/panic Disorder. I have been on the medicine for approximately 5 months now. Hope this might help someone
