Effects of GABA - Anxiety Message Board

Just this week I am trying GABA 750mgs from GNC to relieve my anxiety symptoms while tapering off from Ativan. When I first started taking GABA, I noticed that my head was feeling like it is empty, but I have the feeling of faint when I stand up. I had this feeling of faint before I took the GABA pills, mostly due to the withdrawal symptoms from the Ativan. And before I took those pills, my head is very full, had constant brain zaps, etc.

Is this normal for a person to take GABA while withdrawing from Ativan?

During withdrawl, GABA is what your brain is lacking and thus the withdrawl symptoms, so I would expect it would help. However, I am not sure how the liver treats GABA and if it even enters the brain in a useable form or not.
