Buspar - Anxiety Message Board

i have tried lexapro and zoloft before and now my dr. has prescribed me Buspar to try. he said "it can cause seizures" and that scared me to death now i don't want to try it even though i have no history of seizures. i have MAJOR health anxiety and this made it worse. i may just start lexapro again because scared now. what is anyones experience with buspar?

I've taken Buspar along with an SSRI for about 7 months now, and I have had no side effects from it. It apparently helps boost the effects of the SSRI.

Only you can decide whether or not to take it, but I have read of many people taking Buspar, with no seizure side effects.

I know that Wellbutrin is also known to cause seizures.I read ALL of the enclosed pamphlets

i have been on buspar for almost 3 years and i have had no problem with side effects. the only problem was that it stopped working after 2 years. my doc said that can happen on the lower dose so he upped it and it worked great. it started to work by the fourth day. i consider it a miracle. Wow, get a new doctor!!! What kind of doctor, who knows full well that his patient suffers from anxiety, would tell them that!?!?! Some of these doctors need to seriously learn when to shut the hell up. If that is true that it causes seizures, then what percentage of patients get them? If not that many, then why mention it? But if it's very common, then find a better way to tell your patients instead of scaring someone with anxiety half to death!

Seriously. It's called common sense. Apparently some doctors don't have any.
