Lightheadness, head pressure, upset stomach. Anybody???

Hello,

My name is lance and wanted to see if anybody within the community has had a similar issue to mine. I am having the following symptoms.

1. lightheartedness - tends to be better in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on. It's worse when standing but also occurs on occasion when sitting. When sitting, my eyes feel like they are dilated too much (sensitive to light) and my head has the pressure.

If I am walking, I will on occasion have a sensation that I am going to loose my balance. It feels kind of like having a quick shot of Adrenalin (my eyes kind of go out of focus and I feel faint or loosing consciouses). All of this happens in just a few seconds and then I am feeling fine again.

If I am standing still (especially where there is a group of people), my legs tend to get sweaty and I get the feeling that I am going to fall down. I never do fall down but feel like I need to grab something to stay steady.

2. Head Pressure - I have a almost constant (worse as the day goes on) head pressure. The sensation feels like a rubber band is around my head and is squeezing in. Sometimes I feel my heart pulsate on the side of my head. On occasion, I will get a moderate pain zap in various portions of my head that only last a few seconds.

3. Upset stomach - on occasion I feel nauseas. I tend to feel more upset stomach when I am obsessing or worrying about the other symptoms.

I had similar issues 4 months ago. Turns out I had a good case of depression. Last time I had a Cat Scan of the brain and Abdomen and blood work. all came out negative.

It took a couple of months, but all of the symptoms went away.

Fast forward to now. I have a lot of the same symptoms except I am not depressed. I had another Cat Scan of the brain done this week and it came out negative. I also had a Complete Blood Count and Kidney function test and they came out negative. My Doctor thinks that my anxiety is causing me issues. I don't feel over anxious. Is it possible to be anxious/stressed and not know that you are as much as your body thinks you are???

I am very sensitive with how my body feels and get over stressed and worried if something doesn't feel right. Its like the dog chaseing the tail.

Any help would be grateful. I am trying to make sense out of the senseless feelings.

Do you agree with the Doctor? Does this sound like classic anxiety?

God I could have made this same post word for word, minus having the cat scans. I feel that way ALL the time. The only thing that's ever made it better is Xanax, but now that I've been trying to stop taking it, it's back worse than it was before. I'm not really sure if there's any advice I can give you. I'm trying Celexa to see if that will balance me ot a bit, but I'm not sure. I'll keep you updated. I've noticed I've been a bit happier and not so snappy, but I'm still dizzy all the time and I still have the head pressure all the time with those weird feelings like I'm about to fall over. Sigh. It feels like it's never going to end. You're not alone, my friend. Far from it. We're not allowed to give out email addresses, but keep in touch with me on here and let me know how this progresses.

.moses.

Moses,

Thank you for sharing with me. I logically know that there is a lot of people suffering with the same as me. However, it feels like I am the only one a lot of times because my faimly, co-workers, friends don't understand it. I don't understand it most of the time. Good luck on trying to get off your medication. I know that doing so can be a tough struggle.

God bless.

Yes, yes & yes. Had a brain scan, ok. Had my heart checked out, ok. Had lungs checked out, ok. Eyes examined, ok. Major lab work done, ok. Doc gave me script for celexa, really made me angry (like everything else) but decided to try taking because nothing else helped.
First week I was in heaven. Even though I feel celexa has tapered off I feel normal. I have energy! Take the med. In the evening and a bit groggy when I wake up but then good to go.
Good luck!

Yes it does sound like classic anxiety.I found out that it's possible for your body to know just how much you are stressed out even when you don't realize it when I started having panic attacks two years ago.We have all heard it before"stress can do wierd things to your body"but I don't think there's one of us out there that realizes to just what extent that goes until finally, our bodies let us know.I think it's hard to deal with because we are so use to being in control of our bodies and to find out one day that your body is beginning to dictate to you what it will and will not tolerate is a pretty big pill to swallow.

I feel like I wrote that I have all those symptonms most of the time so much lately that I am afraid to up and down the subway steps. Everyday on my way to work and on my way home all I think about is climbing those steps and I get very nervous. I was just at the copy machine and felt off balance.

Re: Lightheadness, head pressure, upset stomach. Anybody???

This is Lance again. I wanted to provide an update as to what has occured since I orgionally posted this message.

I still continue to feel light headed, head pressure, off balance. Since my post, I have seen a Nurlogoist (SP?) and was given a MRA and MRI. Thank God, both came out OK.

The Nurologist cleared me of any nurological issues which could be causing the symptoms. I was advised that I might want to go see a heart doctor in case I have an irregular heart beat causing the issues.

I don't have the feeling of missed heart beats or a racing heart. I am wondering if I should just start to focus on this being an anxiety problem and start trying to help myself get over it.

The doctors will have me on the MarryGoRound from specialist to specialst because perhaps there is nothing wrong with me. The doctors don't want to say that in fear of law suits and therefore keep passing you to the next doctor.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Has anybody else been on the doctor Marrygoround? When do you level with yourself and rest that you have done a decent job of making sure nothing is wrong and it must be in the head?

Lance
