diazepam and Prozac - Anxiety Message Board

Docs just put me on diazepam 2mg as and when I need it so I can cope with the side effects of the Prozac (until the Prozac get in my system) - anyone got anything on diazepam? i took 1 over 2 hours ago and its doing nothing? its bloody valium and its doing nothing!!!!

You make me laugh.

Ok i took valium for a few years before i took Prozac, on an as and when basis. They gave me 5mg to start with, which i took for flying, and at first it made me feel like i could fly without the plane !!

Then as my anxiety got worse the valium started to have less effect, until 5mg wasnt enough so id take another 2 and thatd be 7mg, that hardly had an effect. 2mg wont touch most people, i would go back to the doc and ask if he can give you 5mg, but frankly in my opinion if your anxiety is high, which it seems, the valium wont really make much difference, it didnt for me

Get further advice from your doc.

Take 6mg daily on an empty stomach and you'll feel it help.

2mg tablets are a very lose dose to give an adult, would hardly fidge a mouse.

Yeah I'm still here, not really had to bother with them, i'm sticking with the Prozac, 3 weeks in now and feeling it, think they are starting to kick in so fingers xrossed
