Anxiety Tips!! - Anxiety Message Board

Hi guys

was looking for advice on anxiety which i seem to suffer with. I have this in both my job and personal life at the moment and have a real fear of being out of control with it.

The mind seems to wonder of and make up storys about past experiences and future possible outcomes to events. I am in a relationship where my partner of 39yrs old has a busy lifestyle with work and busy also with seeing (going out) with friends. I give her flexibility to do things but feel that she see's herself as maybe being held back by a relationship in a blocking sense (don't know why). This then in turn makes me feel insecure as i think she is more interested in going out and seeing friends. Our time together is great in the week when we are together but i feel she is a slightly different person at the weekends.

She has been telling me she loves me and she loves the way she feels with me being supportive, listening to her opinions, tingly fdeelings of love etc but then she can be quite cold to...

am i worrying about nothing and reading her wrong or do i have a genuine GAD?

any help would be appreciated

Hi Jonny,
Your girlfriend is one lucky girl and she knows it. Why? Because she is old enough to know a good guy when she has one and she holds on to you. Not too many women out there are lucky enough to have someone who gives them freedom, is considerate , understanding and loving, all at the same time!
I do not think you have a cause to worry. If she is a little different during the weekends ,it is nothing to worry about. We all act differently when we are away from our daily routine.
You are perhaps feeling a little unsure of yourself lately and insecure but do not frett unnecesarily.Try to relax a little and do things you enjoy so that you focus on subjects other than your relationship.
If a woman tells you she loves you at 39, she must mean it. She is mature enough to know her mind and has the freedom and ability to move on if she doesn't like what she has. But yours hasn't. So, I wouldn't worry about it.
