Klonopin/Zoloft/Alcohol?

I was recently started on a regimen of twice daily 0.5mg clonazepam (Klonopin) and once daily 25mg sertraline (Zoloft) for generalized anxiety/panic disorder.

Would having 1 or 2 beers at a party be a major cause of concern?

Re: Klonopin/Zoloft/Alcohol?

You will get drunk quicker, and with less alcohol. If it normally takes 4 beers to get you drunk, it will now take about 2. I would suggest that you try drinking a beer a couple days before the party to see how you react with it, since it could cause you to get a panic attack. Other then that, you should be fine...just DON'T DRIVE.
25mg of Zoloft daily is 1/4 the dosage most adults are on, so you shouldn't be affected as much as other on 100mg-->200mg. I wouldn't do any binge drinking since excessive alcohol and Zoloft can cause serious breathing difficulties.

Re: Klonopin/Zoloft/Alcohol?

Klonopin with alcohol actually reduces the effect of the alcohol. However, I've never taken Zoloft on a regular basis (tried it made me feel mentally "retarded") with alcohol.

It is not wise to drink while taking klonopin. If driving it is very dangerous. If you are not driving alcohol will intensify. 1 drink is like 2. and so on. Be very careful.
