Switching from Zoloft to Celexa (& klonopin when needed) - Anxiety Message Board

Hi.
I posted earlier about going on Zoloft, but it made me jittery & I had no appetite. My oncologist nurse told me to stop it, which I did yesterday.
I'm going through some anxiety issues right now, and it certainly is difficult to find the right drug.
Today, my GP wrote a script for Celexa 10mg. She said it's the "sister" to "Lexapro." She also gave me generic klonopin (clonazepam) to take as needed.
Anyone have any good (or bad) reports on this drug?
I'm so hoping this is a good one for me. She said Celexa addresses anxiety, more than depression---which is what I need at the moment. I think my anxiety is outweighing my depression.

I was on that combination of meds for a while. once the celexa kicked in )4 to 6 weeks) i was able to come off Klonopin. It is a nice medication.

I took mine at dinner time because it made me sleepy a few hours after I took it.

I'm sure I'll have some questions.
I'm so leery of taking anything, since it's the holiday, that I'm considering cutting it in half. It's probably not a good move, but I don't want to be immobile this week/weekend.
This is so unnerving. I've got so much I want to do & I don't want to feel like a zombie, like I did on the Zoloft.
I wish there was a "magic bullet." There are no guarantee's, are there?

What I did when I first started taking Celexa was cut it in half and I have to tell you it was not good. I mean I felt OK for a few days and then my anxiety was pretty bad and my doctor told me that It was almost like I was irritating my system.

I then took the 10mg and a klonopin (1/2 of a .5 mg pill) and I was good to go.

Take it slow and I know it is hard to find the right med. But Celexa is a good one.
