Unhappy Do you remember feeling "normal"?

I have been suffering with anxiety, mostly health related, for so long now I don't think I remember what normal feels like. If I ever got back there would I recognize it?

Re: Do you remember feeling "normal"?

I think when a person deals with something like this there is a new normal. You can't go back and unexperience something. So you just go on and deal with the changes. Godbless

Re: Do you remember feeling "normal"?

I know exactly what you mean. I have been living like this for over 2 years and i pray every day that i could go back to being "normal" again and not constantly worrying over my heart.

Re: Do you remember feeling "normal"?

I just want to be like everyone i know, not anxious, not scared, not on prozac, and when i look at everyone else getting into a car for a long journey, getting on a plane for their fun vacation, riding on the fast rides at the parks, i just feel like im missing out on so much really, and thats sad.

Re: Do you remember feeling "normal"?

I just started feeling "normal" in the last two years.

I was taken to Emerg when I was 8 years old, because I passed out because of anxiety.

It takes tons of work, but it can be done. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy will help...look it up...get some books.

I am walking proof that it can be done....anyone can do it.

Lil

Hi - i really like your comments- its so true....sometimes i so wish i could feel strong and not be feeling my body horrid symptoms all the time.... but i almost cherish when there are moments of peace or stillness in my body- i guess the one thing about this is that we appreciate any moment however brief when we feel ok or nothing or not terrified...an average person wouldn't know that...

Re: Do you remember feeling "normal"?

Yes i know how that feels- the heart thing is so so hard- but i am over it at the moment- wow!!!! every night for a year i would go to bed terrified and feel my heart thumping so loud...thankgod for meds. To distract and detach yourself from your body and esp heart is just so difficult.. i do hope you can get there...
first step for me was to stop constant pulse taking-
best wishes...
