Upping Paxil Dosage - Anxiety Message Board

I've been taking 20 mg of paxil for GAD and social phobia and shortness of breath for about 10 years, it worked great for me but i did gain weight but I rather deal with weight gain opposed to the anxiety I had been suffering with every since i was eighteen. Anyways, my anxiety level and the breathing problem are taking over again and i am thinking of upping my paxil. My question is does anyone no it i will gain more weight by upping my paxil dosage? I took paxil for several years and I didnt gain any weight... I have never read or heard of anyone gaining weight on Paxil either

Actually when I started taking paxil over a year ago I was 154 lbs during the year that I was taking it, I gained 40 lbs, I stopped taking it a few months back, I am on prozac now which the doc told me does not cause weight.

wow! your're one of the lucky ones. I instantly gained 20lbs when I started it way back when. Thanks for your reply
