Question Curing anxiety?

Is it possible to ever be completely rid of anxiety? I have been dealing with anxiety for almost 3 years now and although my symptoms have greatly subsided since their peak, I don't think that I have gone more than thirty minutes consecutively without feeling some anxiety-related symptom. Usually the symptoms are mild and short-lived, but, they are almost always present, or at least I am always aware that they will return shortly.

So my question is whether someone on this board has ever gone weeks or months without any anxiety symptoms whatsoever? If so, did you think about anxiety at all, or was it completely absent from your mind during those periods?

Re: Curing anxiety?

Yeah I have found relief after going on a strict gluten-free, casein-free diet. I don't really think about anxiety anymore since I don't have those worries. I went on the diet in September of 2006 and it has been the greatest thing I ever did. I only wish I had heard about it sooner.

What made you go on such a diet?

Re: Curing anxiety?

I had lost a lot of weight due to stomach problems and my body wasn't absorbing much of anything. I saw a naturapath who helped with dietary suggestions to eat a high protein/low carb diet and supplements to get my adrenals back on track. I read about gluten on the internet and made sure from then on to stay away from it. I had already been doing that but had no idea why it was working so well until I found out more information about gluten intolerance. As a wonderful effect of all this, my anxiety went away.
