Help! Is there anyone else out there? - Anxiety Message Board

I have been dealing with anxiety and panic disorders for the past 14 years. I have been housebound before for a year, had to quit numerous jobs because of my anxiety and the relationship I have is absolutely strained from my condition. A couple of years ago I was "cured". I was able to leave the house alone, hold a job, even travel! Over the past year I could feel my anxiety creeping back up on me. I was getting physical symptoms of headaches and dizziness and was dwelling on these symptoms nonstop. In the past few months these headaches got worse and my dizziness did as well. About two weeks ago I ended up in the hospital thinking I was having a stroke or heart attack and had a bunch of tests done. As usual they all came up normal. Since then I have been experiencing bad headaches and constant dizziness. I still feel like I have something physically wrong with me, but know in my heart that this isn't the case. I have stopped working again. My wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant and i NEED to get better to take care of my family. I can't even be alone lately with the fear that I am going crazy or am going to pass out. Has anyone else experienced these terrible feelings of constant dizziness, hard time breathing, and feelings of unreality? I am scared and hope that I am not the only one. Please let me know of your struggles. Thanks.

heck no your not the only one. dizziness and feeling faint is my worst symptom. i've been feeling like this the past 7 years.. im married with 2 kids and thoughts of my health consume me.. every day i am dizzy. EVERY day.. and then i have times where my head feels so weird and i swear i'm gonna faint. i break out all hot and my head feels tight and pressure and i get so faint.. this can happen many times a day.. its way worse when i'm not on meds. which i havent been for 6 months.. so 3 weeks ago i started lexapro. it is starting to work a bit. i'm not as bad as i was.(ihn bed all day, crying, feeling faint spells like every minute or two and not eating, lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks) so your not alone.. i feel absolutely dizzy and miserable with anxiety. i ahve had MANY tests done.. ekg's, echocardiogram, stress test, a couple holter monitors, CT scan of my brain, etc... doc swears its anxiety..

I've been there with you and then some. I have my good days and my bad days. Fortunately more good than bad now. Have you talked with your doctor about medications and sought a referral for a therapist? Honestly without medication and therapy I would still be at the lowest of low. Saved me. Your case may be different.

No one can do this alone. Example is this board. We help each other in sharing that we're not alone in this fight.
