Anxiety completely running my life

Hi, I know this is going to be long but I have to vent to someone, anyone so please if you read this please please tell me I am not going to go crazy. I just feel like I am going to fly apart if I get any more stress. I have always had a problem with dealing with any stress but lately I cannot handle anything that out of the norm. In early September it started, I went into the hospital for a hysterectomy, was out of work about 6 weeks. About 4 weeks after my surgery, everything seemed to go wrong all at the same time or close to it. My brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor and died 4 weeks later, my husband went in for a routine physcial and because of a blood test has to see a urologist in ealy December to rule out cancer (I am so scared), my son and his wife are on the verge of bankruptcy and scared they may lose their home because of her uncontrollable spending habits in the past, my sons place of employment has cut out all overtime which was the only way he was being able to try to catch up on her wild spending habits (which she kept him in the dark about for over 4 years) They are in debt for about 70,000 -80,000. He only makes about $17.00 an hour and he is so scared. He can't even afford a lawyer at this point. He has been out of work sick for 2 days now with a high fever and she does not even have sympathy for him. I know he is 34 but she still should try to take care of him. I just feel I am going to lose my mind. I can't handle all of this stress and anxiety. I can't eat, can't sleep, feel like I am going to jump out of my skin. Who can I turn to? What should I do? I don't drive because of extreme phobia, my husband is a trucker and works extreemely long hours and it is so hard to get to a doctor.

Re: Anxiety completely running my life

It sounds like it's difficult for you to rely on family right now due to all the issues going on. If you have a regular physician just give him/her a call and ask for a therapist recommendation. They probably will pull out a sheet of them like mine did.

You're not alone. That why doctors have 20+ copies of therapist recommendations in every exam room. They care

And if your doctor doesn't, call a local care line. They'll have a list. Or just pull out the phone book and start calling to make an appointment.

Best wishes and remember to take care of yourself.

Re: Anxiety completely running my life

Kasey, God Bless you! Your plate it full! But you aren't alone. Many of us are facing big mountains too. First of all sorry for your loss! God promises he will be here for us through all these trials.

I am facing mountains too and am searching for a counselor or some help somewhere. We have been facing foreclosure on our dream house for months. It could be a matter of time. I try not to think about all the stress in my life. I have health issues too. It's all so overwelming. I have to believe there is a way out of all this for all of us. You hang in there! ok! There is hope!

Re: Anxiety completely running my life

I'm sorry you are going through what you are going through. That's a lot on someone's plate in the past few months, especially for someone who doesn't handle stress very well and is prone to anxiety.
What I have found in my life is that there are two ways of handling the anxiety, either through medication or just by working your way through it. Medication works wonders, but I was on some medication a year ago, I felt great in terms of absense of stress and anxiety, but the weight gain, the lack of emotion and the hair loss I experienced on medication caused me to quit the medication. I have in the past, had severe anxiety, and dealt with it in the absence of medication and usually some drastic change is needed to quell these issues and get things back to normal, drastic change, as in a move to a new city, change of job, or going back to school, etc...

I know the feeling with anxiety, and I'm sure right now you may feel like you are losing your mind and your life is out of control and you may even feel like you are dying, or feel that sometimes you believe that some force is intentionally trying to destroy your life or that nothing ever goes right. Just know that if you are experiencing these feelings, that others out there feel the same way and that you are not alone and many have overcome these feelings for a long period of time or permanently.

Some things that may help, is have someone get you to a doctor if you feel you need to get to one, or join a support group in your city where you could feel that you are not alone, or make some extreme change in your life that will benefit your life and make things better.

Hope everything turns around and gets better, and take care !!!

Re: Anxiety completely running my life

Oh my, I know just how you feel but one thing that really shocked me is when I was really suffering and reached out and asked for help - there were so many resources there. People will help you. I agree - start with your doctor and try to find a therapist. I was floored that there is so much help out there but we get so overwhelmed that we don't even know how to find it.

God bless and stay strong!!!
