clonazepam/klonopin Question

My doctor prescribe clonazepam 1mg generic version of klonopin for my panic attacks and anxiety today but I only take 1mg at night. Does anybody take clonazepam 1mg at night and does also help with your anxiety even in the day. Does it help if you only take at night? I also take paxil 20mg and lotrel 5/20 for blood pressure during the day.

Let me know your experiences.

Thanks

Re: clonazepam/klonopin Question

Hi Shopgirl,

I've been taking 2 mg a day for years. Sometimes 1 during the day and 1 at night or just 2 a night. It is not working for me anymore. I get the worst indigestion after taking them. I'm seeing a shrink now (my GP prescribed the clonazepam) and he told me to get down to 1 a day as I'm not really seeing
any difference when I take it now. He said it can affect your memory, not just immediate but permanently. He wants me off it for good but you have to go down gradually. I take Zoloft for anxiety and depression and it hasn't been working too well so the shrink keeps upping my dose. I'll be on 200mg in a week. One thing my GP did prescribe and the shrink has increased is seraqual. It was originally prescribed for sleep only and knocked me on my butt the first few weeks I took it. Now I've found that it works quite well for anxiety and have just started taking .50 mg during the day and .50 mg at night. It's a mood stabilizer/antipsychotic and prescribed in much higher doses for people with schizophrenia or bi polar. You may want to consider that if the clonazepam does not work well for you.

Best wishes,

JB

Re: clonazepam/klonopin Question

I take 1mg of clonazepam every night. Most days I'm okay, but there are times I suffer from anxiety during the day.
On those days, I take an extra .5mg(half a pill) and it really helps.

Re: clonazepam/klonopin Question

Thanks for your replies. I was wondering how long a 1mg klonopin last in your body. I take a 1mg at night but I still feel droggy in the morning.
