Lexapro question - Anxiety Message Board

I started on lexapro 5 days ago and I hate it so far. It is making my anxiety worse, I have headaches and can't sleep. I took 5 mg for 4 days and 10 mg today. Is it ok to just stop taking it until I can talk to the doctor later this week. I haven't been on it long enough to have to taper right?

i am on lexapro and at first it really made me have a lot of side effects....for maybe the first tw weeks then it went away, i was nausous fast heart rate and tired then as i got used to it the side effects went away. if you are really worried about it and cant stand it then just call your doctor and ask them. you should never do anything with a medicine unless oked my a doctor first.

When I took that med, it made me absolutely hyper, my heart rate went up, I went to urgent care because my doc was not in that day. All he did was tell me to go off of it and see my doctor. So I went off without tapering and I had no problems.

I feel a bit better today....it definitely made my heart race. NOT good for a person with severe anxiety
