1. If it's going to work for you how long does it take to kick in? I started taking it on Monday of this week, 100mg a day. I was sort of feeling better on Monday and have continued to improve throughout the week. I was just wondering if it was the 5-htp or if I was just coming off my panic attack on my own. Don't want to take anything if I don't have to.
2. Is anyone who is on 5-htp know anything about how they talk about cardiac disease as a possible side effect? Seems to be about seratonin in the blood but I was wondering how it gets to the brain if it doesn't go through the blood to begin with. It also has something to do with mixing with b-vitamins.
3. I take 50mg in the morning and 50mg in the afternoon. My doctor said it would be fine to take Ambien CR 12.5 mg to sleep but she also said she doesn't know a lot about 5-htp. So it kind of worries me.
Interesting that I just posted some of these same questions. I see you have not received any answers as of yet. Hopefully my post will get some answers that I can pass along to you. After reading 5htp by Michael Murray which claims to give much promise the natural way I had the same concerns as you before I begin my 5htp journey.
