Re: Does anybody have anything positive to say.....
I never had weight gain issues while I was using it. I tried it two times, the first time it worked fine. The second time it made me feel like I was crawling out of my skin, had to stop using it.
Re: Does anybody have anything positive to say.....
Most people who end up posting online has negative effects which is why they post. I have been on Celexa a bit over a year. It helped me SOOO much!!! I did not gain weight. Only thing I noticed was I had to take it in the morning (because I didnt sleep if I took it at night) and also I had a few yawning 'attacks'. Strange, but not even something I considered a problem.
Now I am weaning myself off of it because I feel much better and started taking magnesium (I want to take something natural), and I have read horror stories about coming off. It has been almost 2 weeks of halfing my dose to 10mg and again...I have been FINE! The first 3 days I felt sligtly weird, a little dizzy, but nothing I couldnt handle....and now I feel totally normal again. Going to go another week or so and then stop taking it.
Everyone is so different.
Another reason I am quitting is due to migraines. I can't take the neccassary meds for migraines while taking Celexa, they are not good together.
PS I take Citalopram (the generic)
Good Luck!!!! I'm so glad I tried it. It really helped me

Hi dear,
You will always hear bad things about different medicines. I have a very sensitive system, and I was prescribed Celexa by my doctor who has a list in his head of meds he won't prescribe to anyone because of the side effects. It's usually well tolerated. I didn't have a problem, you will need to give it 6 weeks to fully enter your system, maybe noticing some tiredness while your body is adjusting. Everyone's chemistry is different, it's a good medicine, didn't work as well for me (Zoloft always does) but it might be just what you need, give it about 6 weeks.
Re: Does anybody have anything positive to say.....
it really shouldn't be a problem, Celexa and Lexapro are very similar medicines, so you would probably respond similarly as you did to lexapro and maybe even better Never had a prob myself
