Klonipin vs Xanax
Could someone please explain the difference in these two medications. I'm currently on xanax 4 milligrams per day...has been this way for 26 yrs now. My Dr just recently said she wanted to switch me over to Klonipin, I don't know much about this drug other then it being a benzodizapam > Would I notice the change if I started taking the klonipin? Has anyone else change medications like this? I'm worried about withdrawals from the xanax ........

They are both benzodiazepine tranquilizers (as are Ativan, Valium, Librium and a heap of others)

Xanax and Klonopin are roughly equivalent mg for mg - img of Xanax is roughly equal to 1mg of Klonopin.

You shouldnt notice any major difference between them after the forst day or two
