New anxiety symptom?

Hi everyone,

I've been having panic attacks for about 6 years, since I was pregnant with my second daughter. My symptoms have remained fairly similar, although I also experience periods of extreme hypochondria in which I dismiss the usual symptoms as something else.

For the last 1.5 weeks, I've been under a extreme amount of stress. It's been one of the most difficult spans of time I've experienced. I feel like I'm about to crack. Last night, I started experiencing localized pain in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen. Combine too much time in the hospital for family members with hypochondria, and I convinced myself I have appendicitis (even though I have none of the symptoms). This set off the attack, and it was possibly the worst I've ever had in my life.

I was shaking violently, certain I was about to die, nauseous, lightheaded, sick to my stomach and breathless. My mom and friend got me through it, fortunately, because I repeatedly felt as if I were about to pass out. The panic attack has passed, but I've urinated about 4 times in the last half an hour. I haven't drank anymore than usual, and this isn't a symptom I've ever had with my attacks before. I've read increased urination is a symptom of the attack, but afterward?

Re: New anxiety symptom?

I have the same. When I'm stressed I urinate ALOT! I used to have anxiety attacks after breakfast on occasion for some reason and after it was gone i would have to pee a lot. It's normal. The adrenaline in your body increases which increases a lot of processes. Like your bladder for example. See I used to have a bad panic attack after I would eat something when i woke up because the adrenaline and cortisol would releases excess amounts due to my constant anxiety and that would make me have symptoms similar to hypoglycemia even though I have perfect blood sugar. I would test my blood sugar before and after I would eat breakfast and it was perfectly normal. This relieved me a lot and I eventually stopped doing it. Anxiety can cause anything. I have been a hypochondriac ever since I was young so I have a lot of trouble with freaking out from symptoms of anxiety. For example if my heart does something weird or I get an uncomfortable feeling in my heart it will bring on more anxiety and make it worse and eventually it will pass. And see I usually don't have any trouble running up a flight of stairs or anything i recently went to the doctor and ran various tests and listened to my heart and she didn't find anything wrong. A lot of it is in your head I have learned over the years. Right now I am learning to let God deal with me and for me to stop worrying. It's hard to do. I'm 19 and in college. I have tons of stress. I accomplished this about a year and a half ago to two years ago and I quit worrying so much about it and all my symptoms eventually went away. And if I've learned anything you can be stressed and not know it. This makes the symptoms seem like they come out of nowhere! Good luck. Turn everything over to God, and try not to worry so much. Good luck.

Re: New anxiety symptom?

I feel better knowing someone is like me. I do this all the time. The urinating thing isn't a big deal. you're okay.
