First post here. I've had anxiety, panic attacks, ocd, depression on and off through out my life. I have had minimal anxiety and panic attacks for the last five years until late January. I went to the dentist for a root canal, apparently it was infected so I took some anitibiotcs. I went back in a week and apparently the cavity was so bad that they told me I had to get a crown lenthening to fit a crown. All was well until two days later I got Bells Palsy on my left side of the face. This was so stressful because my face felt frozen and was constanstly getting cool and hot flashes. They gave me acyclovir and a steroid for the inflammation. Well after the steroid treatment my anxiety kicked into full gear, apparently anxiety is one of the side effects.
I been down this road before so I asked my Doctor for lexapro because I heard it has less sideeffects. Ive taken Effexor and Zoloft in the past and no matter what all of them dip my heart rate below 60. I was on Zoloft for eight months so I know it must of gone away. I know around 12 weeks I finally felt better but dont remember how long the low heart rate lasted, I think it was just a week but not certain. Now, I am taking lexapro and its almost been 5 weeks and I still have the low heart rate and its bugging me. Im not athletic and my normal rate is around 72. I also developed what seems to be gerds(I have IBS, but notice now I get stomach wheezing, gurguling, bloating which causes smothered breathing) which started soon after the antibiotics and steroids. Unfortnately, the lexapro seems to make it worse. I started taking prevacid with the lexapro and today I felt depressed. I asked the pharmacist before I bought the prevacid if it interacted with lexapro and she said no. However, not sure if the prevacid is making the lexapro less effective(I'm only taking 5mg to begin with). I hate to change mades but if nothing changes I will probably go with zoloft again. Just wondering if anyone has had or is having a similar problem with lexapro.
