Question Feeling sick after a bad panic attack.

I had a bad panic attack that lasted on and off for a few days.. Now it's gone and I feel calm, but today I've been feeling really nauseous, and having food aversions! It (along with my chest) feels tight, and also bloated. I feel pretty bad, calm, but bad. I've been drinking some herbal teas to maybe soothe it, and it's helped. Is this feeling normal? Will it go away soon? Please and thank you.

I think these are normal Anxiety symptoms, when you have panic attacks it causes physical symptoms to occur after. If you are worried go to the doctors, I am sure though you are fine.

Re: Feeling sick after a bad panic attack.

I know how you're feeling. Hang in there. Panic attacks (especially ones that last a long time) can definitely cause residual symptoms like you are having.. I've experienced exactly what you are describing in the past.. I always felt like once "I" calmed down, it took my chest and stomach a few more days.

Like you, I would drink lots of herbal tea (soothing things like chamomile, peppermint, and ginger), and try to keep myself busy and not focused on the discomfort. I've also recently started putting a few drops of essential oil of lavender into a bowl of boiling hot water in my room and laying down and taking deep, relaxing breaths.. I've found that to be very effective - even though you feel calm, your insides haven't calmed down yet!
