Horrible Anxiety?! Constantly scared of fainting?!

Hi guys,

So, about two months ago.. my grandmother was having minor surgery on her leg and I went in to support her. I saw the hole thing, and it was pretty gross but i thought I'd be okay. Turns out I wouldn't. near the end I began feeling weird so i got out really quickly and sat down in the waiting room, and then i fainted.

It was so horrible and now i have HUGE anxiety about fainting. Anywhere i go in public like a cafe or something i just want to get out. Also in school during class and in assembly things like that i get SEVERE anxiety.

I dont know what to do, it's ruining my life!

I would appreciate any help so much!

You poor thing, anxiety can be awful. have you spoke to anyone bout this? Family, friends, doctor?

The key is not to add additional fear to the feelings you have. Anxiety is a human feeling like any other. Any time you feel that way you have to believe that it is only temporarily. Do not have fear that you might have fear. This can cause a vicious cycle and you can only overcome it by facing your fear and telling yourself that there can be nothing wrong in the particular situation. Everything is going to be fine. Your feelings will go away just as they came, but your have to give yourself time. Don't expect to have them gone in a second. That is the biggest mistake many of us make. Realise that it takes time to cool down and with time you will learn that it does and that you don't have to fear anything anymore.
However be reasonable and don't put yourself into unnecessarily stressful situations just to prove to yourself that you have overcome your anxiety. This will do more harm than good. Start small and believe that you can make it.
Method to face anxiety:
facing, accepting, floa-ting, letting time pass

Current medication: Paxil 40mg, Mirtazapin 20mg

Ninzi - I have told my parents and I'm going to a psychologist about it in a couple of days so hopefully that helps!

D0ink - Thank you, that honestly made me feel so much better. What you said made complete sense and I think what I have to do now is just put that into action when I'm feeling anxious. But that honestly gave me so much reassurance and I will remember what you said next time I'm in a situation when I feel anxious.
