Gag reflex in cold

Does anyone else have this? I have a hyper sensitive usually anyways, but it's never constant in the summer, I can usually brush my teeth normally too. I may have a thyroid problem which may explain the tightness, bulgy feeling in my throat which came back in the summer, but didn't really set my gag off too bad. Anxiety probably makes it worse as well. Just when the cold weather kicks in it gets worse. Would acupuncture/acupressure, laser therapy, reflexology, hypnotherapist, taking tonsils out, or disengaging my gag reflex help at all?
