Panic disorder in twins

Hi,
I'm a 41 year old female twin living in Atlanta. Both my twin and I have suffered from panic/anxiety disorder for most of our adult life. We are both currently on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medicine but still suffer from panic attacks that include severe nausea. Does anybody out there have a similar problem or know of any place in Atlanta to get help once and for all?

Re: Panic disorder in twins

Hi

My worst anxiety symptom is nausea. I was only diagnosed 4 years ago though. I've finally overcome the panic attacks but still suffer general anxiety.

What have you both tried in the past? therapy, exercise, social stuff, hobbies, meditation, breathing exercises etc?

Do either of you have any triggers that you are aware of?

Re: Panic disorder in twins

Neither of us seem to be able to identify any triggers. I've tried accupuncture and yoga, breathing exercises but nothing helps significantly. The nausea is so intense, sometimes lasting only a few minutes, other times coming in waves and lasting for hours.

This started for me as early as being in middle school. My sister's symptoms started around 20yrs old and have continued to this day. My attacks are more sporadic than her's. She pretty much has them on a regular basis.

Anything helpful that you've discovered?

Best to you!
