Anxiety severe panic feels like dying

I wanted. To post this im so lost in my life right now , i am
Constantly told im suffering from severe anxiety \panick attacks
Well here are my symptoms as best i can put them into words
At first i was only having this swooshin in my head that brought
Me to the very edge of passing out and maybe i would have , like
Microburst of passing out but it would happen so fast. But i would never
Actually pass out then the muscles in my face would start feeling
So weird like they were about to just contort in a horrible way it is si scary
But everytime this would happen i was not actually thinking
Of anything i would be either listening to music or workin
But no stressful thoughts were in my head then i would start feeling
Detached really fast then the head thing and the feeling like
I was gonna pass out and die

Just when i thought i was gettin better after like a day
Without feeling like i was dying well of course it would happen again
But now i have added nausea to this really badcnausea and
Trembling i have a overactive thyroid which has been and is continously being
Tested i have always been diagnosed with high blood pressure
This has now consumed my life every waking moment has now become HELL
I feel like it has to be something way more life tgreatening then just panick
Its just too dam severe for just panick im so scared
T

Re: Anxiety severe panic feels like dying

I remember when I had my first full on panic attack. I was absolutely convinced that I was either going to die or go insane. It was literally the scariest moment in my entire life and I can absolutely relate to what you are feeling. And just like you it wasn't triggered by a specific incident, I wasn't stressed out or in a scary situation, it just came on in a wave of anxiety that seemed to build out of control right?

Your fear that its too severe for just panic is understandable, but honestly everything you are describing is what a panic attack feels like when its full blown. Obviously that doesn't change the terrible experience they cause, but at least for me knowing what a panic attack is, and how I start to feel when I'm having one has gone a long way in helping me deal with them. I've found over time with awareness and techniques I've learned through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, that I can, for the most part short circuit panic attacks when I start to feel them coming on. You might also consider medication which can help lower your anxiety levels and hopefully lessen if not eliminate your frequent attacks. It sounds like this is causing you a lot of pain and I'd definitely discuss options with your doctor as soon as you can so you can start getting better!

Re: Anxiety severe panic feels like dying

Lexapro, like all SSRI's can take several weeks before you might notice any significant reduction in symptoms so try your best to hang in there. You might get lucky and it will start working sooner rather than later!

I don't know how it might react with the blood preasure meds, but you could always ask your doctor about a fast acting sedative like Klonopin or Xanax. They can have side effects and you don't want to stay on them long as they can be habit forming but for at least a little while while the Lexapro starts building up it might help.

Working with a therapist who speciailizes in Anxiety and can work with you using CBT techniques could also be beneficial.

Re: Anxiety severe panic feels like dying

Yea i have actually been researching more about those cbt techniques
And i do need to get in with a therapist i just dont kno how to choose one
And i also have a very overactive thyroid which went from my
Tsh levels being at .86 to a deadly 24.50 in a matter of two months
The dr was killing my thyroid with too much tapazole he dropped me
Instantly from 30 mg a day of tapazole to 5mg a day instantly
So im dealing with all these things piled up on top of each other and it is destroying
My life i need a miracle soon cause im bout to lose my job and my
Sanity
