Unhappy Anxiety or not

I am a 56 year old woman who is suffering from constant nausea. it all started around the same time last year and lasted for some considerable time. i lost a lot of weight due to the fact that i couldn't eat because of the nausea. I was told at the time that i was suffering from depression (who wouldn't feel depressed if they were feeling sick all the time).
i had to keep going back to my GP and they just didn't know what to do with me. i saw a locum doctor my my surgery and he seemed to think that i was suffering from anxiety. He suggested that i may need some CBT but by the time the appointment came through for this therapy my symptoms had all but vanished. Then at Christmas last year the nausea came back. i went back to my GP and he arranged for an endoscopy which showed that i had gasritis. I am taking omeprezole for this. The symptoms duly went away again.

Now the nausea is back again with a vengence. I can't eat anything again, been back to my GP who told me that it could be psychological and that he would refer me again for therapy. Could this be anxiety? My nausea symptoms come on at the same time every morning and dissipate at the same time every night.

Does anyone have the same sort of problem. Am i going mad.

Re: Anxiety or not

Hello.

If you haven't already I suggest you see a specialist called a Gastroenterologist. They specialize in digestive system problems.

I myself have had problems with my digestive system that flare up from time to time for no apparent reason. For the longest time this baffled my primary doctor, but when he referred me to the specialist the symptoms started to be more controllable.

It could be more than one problem. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease, Gastritis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome and none of it was under control until the doctor put me on 2 different medications together.

I know what you're dealing with and I hope you find an answer soon.

Good Luck.

JJ
